  • What types of positions qualify as “senior leadership”? +
    • Senior leadership is broadly defined and may pertain to any domain of the applicant’s life.  The biosketches of current Fellows on the ENF website provide examples of the variety of types of senior leaders who have successfully achieved Fellowship in past cohorts.  Some lead within their employing organization, e.g., having senior levels of responsibility for programs, personnel, budgets, faculties, public health departments, and so forth.  Others lead major initiatives that have an impact on health and health care from positions of leadership within governmental policy agencies, scientific councils or expert panels, professional organizations, entrepreneurial activities, and so forth.  Senior leadership in either domain meets the minimum criterion for application.

The unique combination of skills and knowledge that nurses bring to leadership positions makes them ideal candidates for senior leadership roles and responsibilities; however, nurses often assume such positions without benefit of the advanced leadership training, mentoring and networking opportunities that expand the scope of their effectiveness and influence.

  • Are you an executive nurse who wants to improve health care?
  • Do you have a senior nurse in your organization ready to lead systems change?
  • Are there solutions that you haven’t had the resources to explore?
  • Are you looking for a rich opportunity to network with other nurse leaders and elevate your career?
