Piedmont RN Residency Programs Atlanta

For over a century, Piedmont has grown with Atlanta and the community to set the highest standards of patient care by combining the best professional staff with the most advanced technology. Piedmont Hospital is a 500-bed acute tertiary care facility offering all major medical, surgical and diagnostic services. Located on 26 acres in the heart of Atlanta, Piedmont Hospital has more than 3,600 employees and a medical staff of over 900 physicians.

We pride ourselves in offering quality education and a nurturing environment for the new graduate transitioning from the role of student nurse to the role of registered nurse and the experienced nurse entering a new clinical specialty.

Piedmont Hospital offers RN residency programs in the following areas:

In addition to a one-on-one clinical preceptorship with an experienced registered nurse, our nurse residents participate in classes on critical thinking, conflict resolution, effective communication, assertiveness training, prioritization, delegation, and teamwork. Nurse Residents in the critical care, cardiovascular and emergency programs participate in critical care classes.

The interviewing process includes a panel interview with nurse leaders in your area of interest and a representative from our Human Resources Department. To be considered for a position in Piedmont Hospital’s RN Residency Program, all applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Current unrestricted Georgia RN licensure (you may apply to the program before you are licensed, but must be licesned before you can start in the program)
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (3.0 GPA preferred if a new graduate nurse)
  • Current AHA-approved BLS certification
  • Clear criminal background check (performed by Piedmont Hospital once an offer of employment is accepted)
  • Clear health screen (performed by Piedmont Hospital once an offer of employment is accepted)
