You’ve probably heard about the Versant RN Residency Program – a comprehensive evidence-based transition program that increases new RN grad success.

What’s different about the RN Residency at White Memorial?

We’ve been a leading teaching hospital for over 90 years. Combine our decades of successful training and mentoring with the dynamics of the Versant system and you have access to one of the best RN Residency Programs available today. Our application is so specialized and unique to us, we’ve renamed it WMMC RN Residency Program.

What is the WMMC RN Residency Program?

It fully integrates WMMC’s already proven practices with innovations in guided clinical experience, custom classroom curriculum, formal mentoring and debriefing and hands-on skill development. The result? New graduate RNs at WMMC achieve more confidence, feel more secure and reach their career goals with far greater ease.

What do I get with WMMC RN Residency?

The WMMC RN Residency Program offers five months of training to help RNs transition from the school setting to a clinical setting. Each resident receives:

  • One-to-one seasoned, unit-based preceptorship
  • Classroom and lab curriculum
  • Individualized rotation and orientation
  • Dedicated mentoring to refine skills
  • Self-care and support groups

What gets me started?

Our new graduate program begins the first week of March and August.

Applicants must furnish the following items:

  1. Two letters of reference from nursing school instructor or former health care manager
  2. Essay describing your professional goals for the next five years
  3. Unofficial transcript from school of nursing
  4. A professional resume

New graduations must take and successfully pass their California Nursing Boards prior to the Residency Program start date.

All interested applicants who apply online will receive a “prescreening questionnaire by email.” This questionnaire is to be return via emailed Recruitment@ah.org. Based on the Questionnaire, selected candidates will be scheduled for a Panel Interview. Those candidates that successfully pass the panel interview will be scheduled for individual interviews with nursing managers.
