01.The cohort calendar

When residencies begin.

U.S. nurse residencies cluster around two big intakes — summer (June–July) and early fall (September). Plan your application accordingly.
Peak intake Common Some starts Fewer starts

If you graduate in May, the summer intake is the biggest target — but applications for it typically close two to three months prior. Each program sets its own dates, so always confirm on the program's official page. Chart is illustrative of typical seasons, not a live count.

05.How the directory works

Three steps from search to application.

i.

Search & filter

Narrow 1,213 programs by specialty, location, program length, care setting, and accreditation. Your filters are sharable as a URL — bookmark them, send them to a friend.

ii.

Review the details

Each program page shows what we can verify from public sources — accreditation, specialties offered, care setting, and program length — with a direct link back to the program's own page. Read our guide to choosing →

iii.

Apply directly

We send you straight to the program's official application page. No middlemen, no resume database, no spam. The directory makes the introduction; you make the application.
